Being a Chicago White Sox fan hasn’t been easy, between star players suddenly not being able to perform as they once could, and many player injuries, we can’t seem to catch a break. This current 2024 White Sox team is the worst team in the league and as of writing this, they are on a shocking 19 game losing streak. This puts them in contention to be the worst team in the modern era of MLB history. To spread salt in the wound of all White Sox fans out there, the announcer, loved by many fans, Jason Benetti is no longer announcing game broadcasts for the White Sox.
Since I’ve started watching and following the White Sox, Jason Benetti has always been the announcer I adore. Benetti was born with cerebral palsy, a condition that impacted the way he walks. However, he often states that his appearance and disability is just a small part of him. This couldn’t be more true, because the way that he announced made many games much more interesting, and he never failed to make me laugh, even during some of the roughest games, he could lighten the mood with funny stories or puns. In conclusion, Jason Benetti’s humorous and light announcing style makes him one of the greatest announcers of all time and my all-time favorite White Sox announcer.
